100 Years: A Journey of a Lifetime

A Documentary Celebrating the life of Apostle Leroy H. Cannady, Sr.

Refuge Way of The Cross will be honoring the life and work of Apostle Leroy H. Cannady, Sr. the founder of Refuge Way of the Cross by hosting a special viewing of the documentary, 100 Years: A Journey of a Lifetime. The screening of the documentary will take place on Saturday April 8, 2023 at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum.



The documentary is produced by Early Light Media, a local production company that highlights the importance of insightful storytelling. The documentary chronicles the life of Apostle Cannady and follows his story over the past year by filming in key

locations including his hometown, capturing monumental events and delving into his work as a pastor, former presiding Bishop over a national organization and service in leadership. This documentary shares the triumphs and challenges of the Apostle’s life; accomplishments and unfortunate setbacks all of which he has overcome. This project is meant to visually demonstrate the character of his nature-embodying who he actually is.


The pastor of Refuge Way of the Cross, Bishop Troy Barnett says, “Apostle Cannady has a compelling story. “This documentary encapsulates his legacy and it is important that we share his message about who he is and his work.” The screening of part one of the documentary and catered reception will be held at the historic Reginald F. Lewis museum in Downtown Baltimore. Community pillars are expected to be in attendance as well as local and state political figures. Suitable for all age groups, admission to the event is $75 for adults and $40 for children 12 and under.

The church has been in the Wilson Park and Govan Community since 1970. The vision of the ministry is to support the community through spiritual needs by preaching and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ through outreach, mentorship and fellowship.
